Roadlark

Terms of service

Effective November 3, 2026

These terms cover the Roadlark app and the roadlark.com website (together, “Roadlark”). Roadlark is made by Bushwick Labs, LLC (“Bushwick Labs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By signing up for or using Roadlark, you agree to these terms. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information. If you don’t agree to these terms, please don’t use Roadlark.

Who can use Roadlark

You must be at least 13 to use Roadlark. If you’re under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.

Early access

Roadlark is free during early access, and no card is needed. Spots are limited. We decide, at our discretion, who gets early access, how many people get it, and how long it lasts. Signing up doesn’t guarantee a spot.

Early access versions may have bugs, change, or stop working, and we may end early access at any time. Early access versions will be available through Apple’s TestFlight. Apple’s TestFlight terms also apply.

The free year

If we choose you for early access, and you take Roadlark on a trip during early access and tell us how it went, you’ll get a year of Roadlark free when we launch. The free year is for you alone and can’t be transferred, sold, or exchanged for cash. We’ll tell you how and when to claim it.

Drive safely

You use Roadlark at your own risk, and you are responsible for driving safely and following traffic laws. Set Roadlark up before you drive, or let a passenger handle it, and don’t look at or tap your phone while driving.

Roadlark isn’t a navigation app. Follow road signs, your navigation, and the conditions on the road, not the narration. Never turn, stop, or slow down where it isn’t safe or legal because of something Roadlark said.

Places and information

We work hard to get things right, but narration can be wrong or out of date. Roads, closures, opening hours, prices, access, and conditions change, so check before you go. Roadlark uses your phone’s GPS, which works without cell service. Where GPS is weak, such as in tunnels or deep canyons, narration may play late or not at all.

A mention in Roadlark isn’t permission to visit a place. Respect private property, closures, and park rules. We don’t own or run the places and businesses Roadlark mentions, and we aren’t responsible for them.

Using Roadlark

We give you a personal, noncommercial license to use Roadlark on your own devices as long as you follow these terms. Roadlark’s narration, recordings, writing, art, and software belong to Bushwick Labs or to those who license them to us. You agree not to:

Feedback

You can send us feedback about Roadlark, such as errors, problems, or ideas, in the app, through TestFlight, in a survey or call, by email, or any other way. You give Bushwick Labs a permanent, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable right to use, copy, change, publish, and build on your feedback in any way, including to change Roadlark, without paying or crediting you. You agree not to ask for payment or credit for anything we make from it. We won’t use your name with your feedback in our marketing without your permission.

Paying for Roadlark

If you buy Roadlark or a subscription after we launch, you’ll buy it through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles payment, renewals, cancellations, and refunds under its own terms. We’ll show the price before you pay.

Apple

If you get Roadlark from Apple’s App Store or TestFlight, these terms are between you and Bushwick Labs, not Apple. Bushwick Labs, not Apple, is responsible for Roadlark and its content, for supporting it, and for any claims about it, including product liability, legal compliance, consumer protection, privacy, and intellectual property claims. Your license can’t be transferred and covers Apple devices you own or control, as Apple’s usage rules allow. If Roadlark fails a warranty that applies, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund what you paid for it; Apple has no other warranty obligation. You confirm that you aren’t in a country under a US embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and that you aren’t on a US list of restricted parties. You agree to follow the terms of other services you use with Roadlark. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.

Ending access

You can stop using Roadlark at any time by deleting your account and the app. We may suspend or end your access at any time, for any reason, including if you break these terms or if we stop offering Roadlark or end early access. The parts of these terms that by their nature should continue, such as feedback, disclaimers, and limits on liability, still apply after that.

No warranties

Roadlark is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and any warranty that Roadlark will be accurate, uninterrupted, or error free.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, Bushwick Labs won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to Roadlark, and our total liability for all claims about Roadlark is limited to the greater of what you paid for Roadlark in the 12 months before the claim or $50. These limits apply whether a claim is based on contract, negligence, or any other legal theory.

If someone brings a claim against us because you broke these terms or the law while using Roadlark, you agree to cover our resulting losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees.

Disputes

If you have a problem with Roadlark, email us first so we can try to sort it out. These terms are governed by the laws of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts in Delaware, and you and we agree to those courts.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms at any time. Changes take effect when we post them here with a new effective date and apply only going forward, not to disputes that arose before then. For important changes, we may also ask you to agree in the app. If you keep using Roadlark after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms.

General

These terms are our whole agreement with you about Roadlark. If a court finds any part of them unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a term, we haven’t waived it. You can’t transfer these terms, but we may, for example in a merger or sale.
